My Real Car
My first car, I bought a '67 Chevy Belair from a friend for $90 in 1974. I remember making quite a few fun trips in that car. Gas was .35 a gallon then. I couldn't take a can of oil with me, though, I had to carry a case of oil with me. I drove it for a year or so, using oil like gas, It was costing too much. It was stalled at the Tech. school in East Grand Forks. Because the parking tickets ended up being more than I paid for the car, I gave it to the cops. My second car was a '69 Chevy and I drove it a couple years, I called it the Barretta, because the TV show "Barretta was on at the time." Oh, I dream now, if I only had these cars now, they are such classic relics. I still drive used cars and they always seem to run long enough, so I'd get my moneys worth. So I'd have to say I've had a few "real cars."
My Auntie Terri's Kitchen
As a young girl, my Auntie Terri's kitchen was wonderful to me. A big farmhouse kitchen, so sunny and bright, decorated with antique everything, from enamel pots and pans, to hand egg beaters. The kitchen, was a place that felt so warm to me, and good things always came from it. The fresh-baked bread, cinnamon rolls, krum kaka, and everything we ate. The kitchen is where my Auntie Terri taught me how to preserve all the gorgeous garden vegetables, and the berries we picked out in the woods, turned into jams and jellies. I loved my Auntie Terri and her kitchen.
Writing Class
I have been writing papers for school, I'm in College Writing I. We are doing narrative, summary and response, cause and effect, expository, and whatever else, thesis. I decided the papers I write I might as well contribute to my blog. It's hard for me to come up with topics for my blogs, I know it can be like a journal, but I haven't gotten into it, so I'll try this, hope I don't bore anyone too much.

Summer's Here!
I haven't written anything for quite a while. I have to get into the swing of thing's. Summer school started and the two classes I'm taking are hard, lot's of writing. I'm taking College Writing I, and Developmental Psychology. Writing is going fast and trying to remember all the different types of writing, just made me want to write a blog, anyway I wanted to write, and not have to look all this stuff up to see if "I'm writing right". So, I went on vacation with my folks, we went to Bolivar, Missouri, stopping at Lincoln, Nebraska first to see my Brother, sister-in-law and neice and great nephew, my nephew and his new wife and son. It was so great. My brother's yard is gorgeous, he is a magic gardener and I wish I would have gotten his green thumb. We were off to Missouri in only a couple days of visiting with my brother. We had a birthday party the Friday that we got there, my uncle's 88th birthday and my brother's 75 birthday, that was a great day, good food and cake, and lot's of relatives that just welcomed us with open arms, it was so fantastic. Then the next day we had a Baby Shower for Lina, my cousin's daughter, it was fun too. she's having a boy baby. We stayed at my niece's house, lucky everywhere had good air conditioning, because it was 110 in the shade the week we were there, which was unusual for them too in the beginning of June. After five days or so and lots of visiting we were off again for Nebraska. Had another three days there and it was so relaxin with my brother and family, we had a great time!! A trip of a lifetime, I call it.
